Elizabeth Soboeiro, M.S. CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Elizabeth is a proud graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill for both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She began her career here in Raleigh and has worked for private practices, public schools and adult rehab facilities.

Elizabeth has worked with Capitol City Speech Therapy since 2014. While here she has further developed skills in use of augmentative and alternative communication and feeding. She is trained in Lindamood Bell’s Visualizing-Verbalizing for use of imagery in comprehension and recall for written and oral language. She is certified in Triple P and a good resource for parents’ dealing with their children’s unexpected struggles, such as disobedience.

Elizabeth is committed to increasing children’s access to communication. She enjoys structuring play and classroom activities to develop language, fluency and articulation. She uses a combination of formal and informal activities for therapy and assessments. Taking a child’s perspective allows therapy designed specifically for that child. Elizabeth loves using books and literature with children of all ages. She believes strongly that all people have a right to communicate at their highest level. She sees the therapeutic relationship as a collaboration between the patient, family and therapists. Elizabeth especially values working with parents, teachers and other therapists to impact the whole child.

When she is not working or cheering for the Heels, Elizabeth enjoys travel, gardening and reading. Elizabeth and her husband live in Raleigh with their cat, Lola, and their adult children’s earthly belongings.
