Lauren has worked with a variety of pediatric and adult populations, though her passion is helping young children. Prior to joining Capitol City Speech Therapy, Lauren worked in the public school system and is excited to use her experiences to help families navigate the IEP process.
Lauren has specialized training in working with children with hearing impairment, Autism, social and behavior disorders and severe speech sound disorders including Verbal Apraxia. Lauren is trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), DIR/Floortime and Positive Parenting Program- Level 2. She She enjoys working with children with social communication difficulties and has led social groups using Social Thinking materials. She also has experience using alternative methods of communication such as picture exchange, Touch Chat, Snap Core, core boards and basic sign language. Lauren strives to make therapy fun, engaging and functional so that patients and families can easily take ownership of their progress and integrate good communication in everyday life.
Lauren provides in-person therapy in our Fuquay offices as well as teletherappy services.
Lauren is a Raleigh native and graduate of NC State and the University of Georgia. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her husband Cameron, sewing, and cooking.
