Lauren McBean, M.S., CCC-SLP
Lauren is a native of Raleigh and graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Middle School Education and a minor in Spanish. She received her graduate degree from East Carolina University.
Lauren has worked with adults and children of all ages. She particularly enjoys working with the older adult population and with "late talkers" and language delayed toddlers. She is also familiar with nonverbal means of communication, such as PECs, basic sign language, other alternate modes of communication. Lauren has specialized training in working with voice disorders, swallowing disorders, and aphasia. She also enjoys working with adults and children with hearing impairment, articulation/phonology disorders, and written language disorders. Lauren is proficient in basic Spanish (such as teaching "first words" and early language intervention). Lauren aims to make therapy enjoyable and personal as well as functional for daily life. She enjoys working with families to teach strategies in order to improve their children's communication in their most natural environments.
Outside of work, reading and writing are two of her biggest passions. She also enjoys working out, hiking, and spending time with her family.
