Ann Marie Marchese

Speech-Language Pathologist

AnnMarie received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Rhode Island, and has a wealth of knowledge and experience working with both children and adults with communicative disorders. She has been working for Capitol City Speech Therapy since it opened in 2004. She is the clinical director at our Fuquay-Varina location.

 

Anne Marie presently provides ongoing therapy services for all ages including preschool, school-age, middle and high school students as well as some adults. With children, she has extensive experience evaluating and treating all types of language impairments, articulation/phonological disorders, apraxia, dysarthria, pragmatic/social impairments, fluency disorders and voice disorders. In addition, she has worked with a number of children with medical diagnoses including, ADHD, Specific Language Impairment, Non-Verbal Language Disorder, Autism, PDD/NOS, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, brain injury. She has the knowledge to work with families to help children overcome feeding and swallowing issues related to oral motor and sensory issues. She frequently provides language testing to help with academic planning and development of an IEP and is able to counsel and support families through the IEP process with knowledge from both personal and professional experiences. Anne Marie also has experience working with adults who have speech, language or swallowing impairments resulting from a stroke, brain injury, anoxic episode, voice disorder, or fluency disorder. She is trained in using AmpCare- Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation for adults with speech and swallowing difficulties and she is DIR/Floortime Trained for children with Language delays. She is Triple P-Level 3 Trained. AnnMarie enjoys working with individuals with communication disorders and their families to provide them support, guidance and the therapeutic intervention necessary to successfully navigate through life.

 

When she is not working, AnnMarie enjoys time with her family, being active and baking.
