Bethany Waddey
Speech-Language Pathologist
Bethany received dual bachelor's degrees from Western Kentucky University in Communication Disorders and Spanish, and she received her master's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Bethany enjoys working with infants and preschool and school-aged children with a variety of needs and abilities.
She is experienced working in the pediatric acute care setting in the NICU and Pediatric ICU treating medically complex infants and children. She has experience with infant feeding, dysphagia, failure to thrive, cardiac conditions, prematurity, HIE, NG and G tube weaning, and patients with tracheostomies.
Bethany also has experience with speech sound disorders, language delays, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, autism, fluency disorders, language disorders, pediatric feeding disorders, "picky eating", selective mutism, and social skills. Bethany is fluent in Spanish and is committed to providing culturally responsive care. She believes in providing individualized and client- and family-centered therapy to support each client’s cultural and linguistic needs.
Outside of work, Bethany enjoys taking walks with her dog—Maggie, spending time with her partner—Ed, baking sweets and sourdough, and exploring new places.
